About Us
Frequently Asked Questions
All Premier Homecare Services agencies are accredited by Accreditation Canada or waiting accreditation status pending an on-site survey. This just goes to show how strongly committed we are to providing the best home care services for our clients.
Premier Homecare Services prides itself on being Canadian owned and operated. We are strongly committed to the communities that we serve. In order to maintain consistency in our service, the same caregiver always works with the same client. This has been the best way to establish a meaningful connection.
What makes your caregivers different?
All of our employees are bonded and insured. Our screening process for caregivers is very thorough, and includes checks of employment history, criminal records, driving records and a vulnerable sector screening. Only graduates from recognized personal health care programs with valid CPR and First Aid certificates are considered for positions with us. We also hire companion caregivers that bring their experience from numerous situations to provide great companionship. All new employees are required to attend a comprehensive orientation program and are encouraged to do ongoing training in order to keep their skills and knowledge sharp.
Is there any obligation to go with Premier?
There are no contracts; therefore there is no obligation for clients to use Premier for their home care services. We require clients to sign a service agreement that outlines the details of your care plan and our policies. However it is not a binding contract, so you may cancel our services at any time. We only ask that you give us a reasonable amount of notice, roughly two weeks, before cancelling. Invoicing occurs weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your service, and payment is due upon receipt of the invoice, which will include HST. Please give us a call for more details.
Is there any minimum booking time?
We generally spend a minimum of 3 hours with a client. However, special circumstances may require some unique accommodations. We work with our clients to ensure their needs are met. Caregivers are available at any time of day and can provide assistance for both long and short-term cases.
What other type of care do you provide?
For those currently serving as primary caregivers, generally a spouse or child, we offer respite care to give them a break. Respite can be provided regularly, for example on a weekly basis, or for an extended period of time to cover the length of a vacation. It’s important that primary caregivers get a break too, that’s exactly what Premier Homecare Services North York can do.
We also offer non-medical palliative care that can assist in making the final transitions of life at home a little easier. We are sensitive to everyone’s situation and our caregivers have the compassion and experience to handle these difficult end-of-life circumstances.
